The Power Of Believing You Are Loved By God!

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?” – Romans 8:35 (ESV)

In vs. 35 Paul asks “who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Then he proceeds to list circumstances of life that Christians may face, including famine and nakedness.

This is interesting because it is in the difficult circumstances of life that we are tempted to wonder if God loves us.

Yet Paul says that even lack of food (famine) or lack of clothing (nakedness), (which are two things God promises to provide for us in Matt 6), yet even if you do not have those things you still do not need to doubt God’s love for you.

In other words, even in your greatest need, God has not abandoned you, He has not stopped loving you. You can be certain that God still loves you and nothing can separate you from His love!

Then in verse 37 Paul continues…

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37 (ESV)

Paul says that “in all these things we are more than conquerors”!

How is that possible? How do we rise above all the circumstances we might face in life?

The answer is found in this phrase: “through Him who loved us”. Paul wants you to understand that Christ is the source of your victory! He won it all for you… and He loves you!

When you know and believe His love for you personally, you are more likely to dwell in Him when you face difficult circumstances… and when you abide in Him you will rise above those difficult circumstances for His glory.

Your circumstances may not change right away, yet they will have no hold on your mind and heart because you become more than a conqueror in Christ.

So here we see how powerful and important it is to believe that you are loved by God! Because believing His love for you personally is the key to living as “more than a conqueror”!
